Car park

An 800-space car park, 400 for public use, will be provided beneath the podium deck which supports all of the development, open spaces and square above.

The podium deck solution elevates the development above tidal surge and flood risk levels while providing an elevated vantage point for visitors and the general public to view the vistas, bay and Nothe harbour. Views of Nothe pier and the harbour in particular are currently obstructed by the clutter of existing buildings and secure areas of the port.

It also enables greater space to be dedicated to public and pedestrian use while protecting vehicles from the elements and increasing security. Access to the car park will be via a secure, dedicated roadway along the dock side and visitors to the theatre and Ferry Terminal will also have direct access from the car park.
