21st July 2008 Weymouth Pavilion Exhibition Extended (Pavilion Concourse, Tuesday 22nd to Monday 28th July) More than 1,500 local people attended the exhibition of Howard Holdings’ redevelopment plans for the Weymouth Pavilion and Ferry Terminal site at the Mulberry Centre last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Visitors were invited to submit written comment, as well as being given the opportunity to vote on prospective names for the new scheme. Comments will now be logged and considered prior to the submission of the final planning application next month. In response to the high level of public interest in the scheme, the majority of the exhibition is now being moved to the concourse area at the Pavilion where it will remain on display for a further week (from Tuesday 22nd to Monday 28th July inclusive). This extended exhibition will be unmanned and opening hours are from 11.00 am to 8.00 pm daily. “We have been hugely encouraged by the levels of interest shown in the exhibition,” said Gary Charman, regional director of Howard Holdings. “Our objective was to ensure that the community received accurate information about the specific scheme being put forward for planning permission. Hopefully, we were able to answer concerns and address any misinformation that had been circulating so that the people of Weymouth can make a considered and informed decision about the future.” Those visitors wishing to submit their comments by post are reminded that the deadline for receipt is 9.00 am on Tuesday 29th July 2008. Alternatively, residents can choose to review the exhibition panels and submit their comments online at www.weymouthpaviliondevelopment.co.uk. - ends –
